Raven is seated, crosslegged, on the floor. There is a large chunk of fine clay beside him, as well as a putty knife, and several other instruments.
Incense is burning, and he has laid patterned ribbons in a neat star shape around him.
He is waiting for aid.
This is as far as he can go alone.

"That does sound enjoyable. I regret I missed it."
A pause.
"I would ask about the fight, but I have never married, so I do not know how such things work. Friends are fine things, though."
He shrugs, drops part of the illusion, and begins to plaster over a fissure in his shoulderblade.
It is slow going, and looks awkward.

"Err. Do you want me to... try to do that? It'd be less of a strain..." She doesn't know much about clay, other than it is dirt-like. Woe.
no subject
"If you could smooth it over, I would be much obliged. I have not the angle for it."
He sighs.
"I hate this. Muchly."

"People are often surprising."
He blinks.
"This, though--this I could live without."
He pushes clay into another fissure on his bicep.

"There. That's alright then, I guess. Take a look?" She holds up the mirror for inspection.
no subject
"It is well enough, Ace, and more than. I thank you."
A pause, and a headtilt.
"Will you help with the other side?"

"Is there aught you would speak of? I have been here for some time, and I am somewhat at a loss for conversation, I think."
no subject
"Y'missed some terrific explosions the other day. The Americans had a holiday just for fireworks. Sometimes they can be pretty smart people." No, Ace doesn't have any intention of changing her revisionist history. "Talked to Bernard."
no subject
"I am sorry to have missed it. Perhaps," and here his look turns hopeful, "there are other holidays like that? Or I could wait for next year, I suppose."
He blinks.
"You spoke to Bernard?"
no subject
...
"Yeah. I did." She fiddles with the knife, just to give her hands something to do. "Things aren't going to change for a while."
no subject
"I--what?"
Both eyebrows are up, and he looks bewildered.
"The wheels of justice are slow, in this place? Or are people so hotheaded they need this much time to cool down?"
no subject
"It still could be worse."
no subject
"How is it, for you?"
no subject

"It is as well as can be, then."
Possibly. Raven is not quite so stupid.
"And, should they become too insistent, you may always hide here."
He's waiting for the perch, really.

This calls for stealthy ninja skills.
"Ta, Raven. Might take you up on that." She'd hug him for it, but she's hesitant now that she knows he's not nearly quite as healed as he looks on first glance.

"I am not broken, Ace. Just--covered in clay, at the moment."

She tackle glomps him. For being a good brother.
