Raven is, perhaps, a little tired of flying.
Mostly the part where he is flying and not finding Spoon.
Some things are trickier than they need to be.
It is unfortunate.
Possibly this is why Raven is poking at the door to the TARDIS, waiting for Ace to say he can come in.
He is not so very good at waiting, sometimes.

...
A few minutes later she closes the door sheepishly and wanders herself back towards the TARDIS, sans bird.
no subject
With chalk.
It is easy to remove!
That is, of course, if any gets on it in the first place.
Time travel is tricky.
no subject
"Ravenravenraven guess what?" She chirps, now clinging in a decidedly monkey-ish fashion.
no subject
Not quite.
"You have found Spoon, perhaps?"
Either that or she has forgotten him, but Raven is possibly hoping it is not so much that.
no subject
"He's come home. He's a'right. Well. Yeah, a'right."
There's a telling pause.
"And married but that's not important because she's twelve and... um. Not here."
no subject
It is not a trick of the light.
"It is a quick marriage, that, yes?"
no subject
"He's been away for two years. In Troy."
no subject
A lot.
"Some have, I think, been away longer."
He looks down at her, black eyes so very bright.
"You are wanting to go inside, perhaps?"
no subject
no subject
It is good, perhaps, that he is made of clay.
He does not, however, let go of Ace.
Now is not so much the time for that.
no subject
"Still need t'find Wells. Annie's worried sick. Not that I did Spoon any good." Ace sighs, freeing herself. There's always something else to do.
no subject
Really.
He does, however, ruffle her hair.
"You looked. Some people stop."
Beat.
"Wells is not still looking?"
Is it an epidemic?
no subject
no subject
"That, I think, is very irritating. Perhaps it is a problem with outside?"
no subject
Ace can babble with the best of them.
no subject
Raven has no idea.
It is the trouble with cheating, perhaps.
Sometimes.
no subject
no subject
Raven is still frowning.
No smell, either? Or sound?
no subject
"Nothin' else either, smartass. Just boom, hi, you're in the Bronze Age now. Have fun."
no subject
It is a very old curse.
Fortunately (or perhaps unfortunately), there is nothing around to be hit by it.
"That, I think, is fucking annoying, yes?"
no subject
"Rather. Gives me no leads on where t'find Wells, 'cept maybe in the same spot... but Spoon didn't hear anything about Wells there, an' Wells disappeared while Spoon was still gone."
no subject
"This, I think, would be less complicated if it were a thing I had seen."
This is very true.
For the most part.
no subject
no subject
It is a thing.
"You are for having a feather, yes? So."
As long as she keeps that, it will be all right.
Somehow.
no subject
He could always go back and get her, if he decides Ace is too much trouble.
no subject
"Possibly if you are a duck, yes? There is oil."
Raven can . . . . make Ace a duck, if she prefers.
Perhaps.
no subject
no subject
"I am not so fond of ducks as that."
Honestly. Who does Ace think Raven is?
Don't answer that.
"They are smelly. Also loud."
no subject
"And they're ducks." She clarifies, hammering the point home.
no subject
Raven nods. Possibly Ace has hit her head on something.
Like air.
"Jays are better, I think."
So.
no subject
no subject
"But it is very true, yes? So."
Why is she complaining again?
no subject
"So." There's a comfortable sort of pause, the sort where you know where you stand with the other person, and it is good.
"Wonder where Spoon's shirt went."
no subject
"It is not a thing you were hiding, perhaps?"
no subject
no subject
"Possibly if she is for screaming loudly enough, it will come back?"
Sometimes things are just that simple.
no subject
"Don't think Howl'll appreciate me askin' his girlfriend t'scream." She helpfully points out.
no subject
Really, now.
no subject
Yes, Raven. DUH.
no subject
"It is, I think, simple enough to turn back. So."
Duh, Ace.
no subject
Crazy bird.
no subject
Raven is shocked.
Hopping.
"It is not so boring as that."
Though not as good as flying, of course.
no subject
First a duck, now a toad? It isn't fair.
no subject
Or brown.
It is disappointing.
no subject
no subject
"Possibly you are fond of chartreuse?"
Because that is nothing like green.
Really.
no subject
Then she decides that discretion is the better part of valor, at least in this case.
Yes, she runs like hell into the maze-like hallways of the TARDIS.
no subject
And he, unlike some people wearing boots, does not clomp.
