It is not so much that Raven likes the desert. But there are not many people there who are planning to stay.
Trucks on the road, the occasional car, airplanes flying over. It is not so bad.
There is enough transience for things to be okay.
But he gets bored.
This is problematic.

"If I get electrocuted again, I won't be pleased." She announces at the world in general as she starts placing pads and tape.

The wind starts blowing dust and grit hard enough to hurt.
Raven shifts position so that he can break the force enough that Ace does not take the brunt of it.
"It is, I think, not so much that, this time."
He'd go, but she'd chase him and --
He is tired.
no subject
Keeps it from flying away, anyhow.
"Brilliant, I hate gettin' 'lectrocuted. Stings, doesn't it." She replies, having to shout a bit to be heard over the steam-train roar of the wind.

Do not ask where the stray piece of straw came from.
No one really wants to know.
no subject
She's gonna be pissed if he doesn't tack down the end of the gauze.
In a bit, anyway.
no subject
Not that it is difficult.
He cheats.
And then he tapes the gauze down. After clearing out all the dirt, first.
Even if he does not have biology, there is no sense courting infection. Or irritation.
The open wound and the constant bleeding is bad enough.

For both the straw and the taping.
Or she will once she shudders into movement again, like a reluctant wind-up toy. She tries to sit up, and tilts off to the right as her vestibular system puts up a white flag, still not quite recovered from this last mishap.
no subject
"Possibly it is better not to stand up, yes?"
And just hope there are no scorpions around.
Or -- anything.
no subject
And a bit dizzy. Ugh. She wants her vestibular system back now.
no subject
It is true. Somewhat.
"I am not so much sure that will make them more difficult to find."
Plus the kind of magic possible with them would be -- bad.
no subject
"M'pissed, not stupid. I don't want t'clean up that mess." She replies, sitting up again, more slowly this time.
no subject
"Possibly I will be for cleaning that up."
Someday.
no subject
This'd be the pot calling the kettle black, yes.
"Ugh. Gonna have t'get m'self a good luck charm or sommat. This is ridiculous."
no subject
He huffs out a breath that might almost be a laugh.
"Also visiting Singapore."
Or-- wait. What has he got in his pockets?

He tosses something at her, a tiny bundle of bone pins and grey thread.
There may be a tooth in it, as well.
But not Coyote's.
"I do not know if it will help, so much. Still."
no subject
"It's, um." She eyes it, trying to think of something positive to say. "Creative?"
no subject
Sadly it does not work very well with scorpions once they are no longer theoretical.
Still.
no subject
"Ow." She adds a moment later, and decides sitting down is good.
"I've changed m'mind." She mutters, if a bit thickly, a few moments after that. "Horsehead Nebula."
no subject
He still sounds tired.
And the flat paste of the scorpion is now on fire.
Raven is, it seems, also angry.

So there.

"They don't have support groups for that." She decides, finally. Then her face lights up with a cheery grin.
"They do have sisters though."
no subject
He'd hug her if that wouldn't get her killed again.
As it is --
Some of the sand in their vicinity fuses into glass.
no subject
"Y'goin' t'be alright, Bird?" She worries. Even if it doesn't do much good.
