OOM: In Raven's room

There is a sparkly perch in the corner.

Raven is sitting on it, sleeping.

All is peaceful.

You can practically feel the quiet.

She nudges him with an elbow.
"Y'sayin' we're overambitious apes?" She's amused at the image. And after that lovely trip to visit a demented alien recorder, she has no problems with it.

"No."

He smiles at her.

"I am saying you tell your own stories. Or you may, do you so choose."

He shrugs.

"Not many do. It is a thing I work to correct, after a fashion."

Raven's grin is wicked.

"It has to do with ruts, do you see?"

"TARDISes can't leave ruts." She points out, helpfully. "And it's very hard t'be in one, when everything keeps changing."

She pauses to consider this.

"Though, it's easier, here, oddly. You can blame the Landlord for just about anything, but no one knows precisely what he does. Or if he exists, really. You'd think in a place as odd as this one, ruts wouldn't be so easy."

"Easier, here, perhaps. It is the familiar in the midst of so very much strange. I find it sad, after a fashion."

He rests his cheek on her hair.

"Selective reality is a pain in the ass."

That pretty much says it all, right there.

Yes. It does. She sighs.

"Am I a horrible person, 'cause I didn't welcome him home, an' be happy, an' all? I want t'be... wanted t'be... but... I couldn't stay. Would have really fought, then."

Raven laughs, softly.

"I am not the best judge of such things, perhaps. It is your choice to make. What remains is to see how it falls."

He breathes, quietly.

"People are difficult. There are many things I do not understand. So."

Sulk. Why must people be hard?

"Can I stay here, t'night?"

She'll never admit that she's afraid of running into Tim so soon after the fight.

But she is.

"Certainly."

He quirks a half smile.

"But no more banging, please? Falling off the perch is rather painful, I think."

Raven rubs his forehead again.
